My soon to be father-in-law Franco and I went to lunch at Tickle My Ribs in Indian Trail, NC. We had a good time talking about Joanna and how good the food was. Marie helped us with the menu and was a lovely host. We loved the food and will be back for more. As with most of my clips, I try to include a family video at the end. Love is not just an emotion or a promise; it is a decision
It was January 23 of the year 2025 and Joanna with her striking black hair and I had only been dating again for two months and I took her to La Belle Helene for lunch. We had dated in 2023 for a few months until I realized I just wasn’t ready to date again after a girlfriend named Boozehound had broken my heart. More over; I was also still morning the death of my late wife Sonya and I knew Joanna was something special. She deserved to be with someone devoted fully to her so I took time off from dating to focus on myself and my three kids. Now in 2025 after reconnecting in November at this lunch, there were these books floating around the restaurant from table to table. Patrons were writing notes in the and cute sayings. I took the opportunity to write this message to Joanna in a copy of the Iliad.
Being dark and mysterious, I purposefully wrote this message “To my Joanna, October 17, you will know by then how much I care for you. Your Matthew.” I was intended to let her know by this date how much she meant to me. This date has a special significance to me and is close to my birthday. As time went on our relationship blossomed into an even more passionate and caring friendship. We always took things slow until there came a time that we both knew this was more than a passing romance. I made the decision at this lunch to “go all in”whatever the consequences.
Love is not just an emotion or a promise; it is a decision. That’s why I wanted to present the ‘Iliad’ book with the same message I penned for her during that lunch before the proposal. It represents my love and the moment I chose to fully commit and “go all in”. I love you, ‘babe,’ and I can now genuinely call you my ‘honey’.
